On-Site Service Example

This client was a small upscale men's clothier with three stores in a region of the country. They had payroll run by an outside vendor; HR was administered HR was internally by the spouse of the owner. Employees were paid on salary, hourly and commission basis, as well as a combination of all three. There were plans for expansion into other geographic areas.

They had numerous problems with payroll, time and attendance reporting, 401k reports and commission reports. The person who was doing this no longer felt comfortable doing the function. The owner felt he needed someone to become involved with doing the time and attendance, but didn't feel his business was in need of an HR professional.

He was however, approached by vendors of life, medical, and other insurances as well as other payroll and Professional Employee Organizations (PEO) and wasn't sure he had the best most cost effective way of providing Human Resources service. In other words, he knows what he knows but was concerned about what he didn't know.
