Project Ten

This case revolves around the current provider of health insurance and its service issues. The physicians in the area of service had decided not to accept the insurance because of mistakes, late payments and poor payment schedules.

Based on the decisions of these physicians and the desires of our client's employees, our client was forced to shop for comparable insurance. The issue was further exacerbated by the demographics of the employees. Many lived in the service area, but some wanted to travel outside the service area while others had college age students who needed coverage.

The client attempted to sort through the various options himself and became frustrated by rating cycles, rate structures and benefit plan designs. HMO, PPO, POS and indemnity plans confused him.

Our consultant at Northeast HR for Hire did the groundwork for the client paying particular attention to the needs of the employees. We developed a spreadsheet for the client that compared and contrasted plans taking into account the needs described above, as well as the costs and how the rating schedule impacted costs.

The end result was that the client was able to make an informed decision that was cost effective while providing a high level of comfort for his employees.

Resolution:

The client did not want to spend his limited time shopping around for benefit plans tailored to the needs of his employees. By retaining Northeast HR for Hire to do the legwork, the client saved valuable time and money for the company. In addition, as experts in plan development and design, our consultants were able to find the best plan at the best price for this client.
